Abstract

Advancements in hardware in the last decade allow application of identification algorithms in real-time, improving the abilities of, e.g., on board flight control systems mid-flight. This paper presents a state-of-the-art of the identification in aviation, combining the basic principles with exploration of novel methods relying on artificial intelligence. A system and a roadmap for successful application of the aircraft identification to a fixed-wing aircraft with commercially available autopilot Veronte is proposed. Both the architecture, and implementation of its basic building blocks is discussed as well.
