Abstract
One of the latest trends for cable insulation is the need for the development of new materials with excellent heat resistance and high dielectric strength. Some of the new engineering plastics such as aromatic thermoplastics are expected to have the excellent thermal and electrical properties as the insulation materials due to its molecular structures. From the viewpoint of this context, the author investigated the properties of engineering plastics for the wire and cable which have the thinner insulation thickness than that of the conventional plastic insulation.
