Abstract
In recent years, several energy management strategies have been proposed in order to maximize the energy efficiency for smart grids. In this paper, we study the advantage of adopting a cooperative load management to maximize the consumer’s profits. Consequently,a developed home energy management has been evaluated with two other approaches (demand response and unscheduled load profiles) in terms of load peak power and load factor. Simulations are conducted in three different houses communities. The results demonstrate the high impact of coordinated scheduling decisions on the performance of the whole users, as it achieves up to 45% in the load factor maximization and curtails up to 28 % the peak load consumption.
