This paper explores a novel method for reducing the stray loss in totally enclosed fan cooled (TEFC) induction motors. The concept of diamagnetic shielding has been used to reduce the stray loss occurring due to leakage of flux from stator's outer surface. Electromagnetic Analysis based on Finite Element Analysis (FEA) has been used extensively for this study.
