Abstract
This article verifies, through a case history, the factors that impact on the turnover of people in the supermarket segment. The theoretical framework was based on the management of people and its turnover and also in the context of the segment, with bibliographic research, field research, analysis of documents and electronic information. The data acquisition technique was through closed questionnaire with questions organized into blocks applied to employees, with semi-structured interview with HR manager, data provided by Capixaba Supermarket Association – ACAPS and index data and average turnover in the segment by the Brazilian Association of Supermarkets - ABRAS. The results indicated that the factors that most impact on turnover are remuneration policies and benefits and also the lack of motivational factors, such as organizational climate and leadership.
