Abstract

Pions and protons produced in proton‐ or pion‐incident nuclear reactions at several GeV have been measured with a large acceptance cylindrical spectrometer. Two components in proton spectra were observed which were reproducible with a model assuming two moving sources with β°=0.4–0.8 and βI=0.1–0.2. The slope parameters were E°0≂150 MeV and EI0=50–70 MeV, respectively. The pion spectra were hard to decompose into two components and only the high‐momentum component with E°0∼160 MeV was identified.
