Abstract
A 26GHz-band IMPATT direct oscillator frequency modulator stabilized with a dielectric resonator has been developed. The developed frequency modulator consists of MIC, presenting great potentials for reduction in device size and cost. The frequency modulator incorporating two MIC isolators provides an output power exceeding +23dBm, a frequency stability of within ±l×l0¿4 over a ¿10°C to +50°C range, a DG of less than 1% over a ±8MHz-range, and a phase noise of better than 72dBc/Hz at a frequency 10 kHz apart from the carrier frequency. The frequency modulator thus developed will sufficiently be applicable to FM transmitters in mi1limeter wave radio communication systems.
