A questionnaire approved was applied to obtain information from beekeepers about the current situation of beekeeping in this region. The analysis for the detection of pesticide residues was carried out by the modified QuEChERS method and liquid chromatography analysis with detection by mass spectrometry. The region is made up of small and medium beekeepers and many of them are also farmers. There has been a decrease in the production, death and disorientation of bee swarms in recent years, and beekeepers associate these factors mainly with the use of pesticides in crops. However, there are no agrochemical residues in the samples, proving that the honey being produced and marketed in the region is safe for consumers. Abstract

This study analyzed samples of honey produced in honey houses in the region of Missões RS, to determine if the product was contaminated with residues of pesticides that are widely used by local agriculture.
