Abstract
Outstanding engineer training plan aims at producing huge reserve talents to meet the requirements of the quantity and quality of engineers for China's economical and social development. Academic competition is an effective means to enhance overall quality of college students. Regarding academic competition as the carrier and the purpose is to improve innovation ability of students, it strengthen the learning ability, innovation ability, practice ability and cooperation ability. These abilities lay a solid foundation for better implementation of outstanding engineer plan.
