basic issues are then defined, which shape the contextual conditions of psychosocial work in conflict: 1. Well being is impossible. 2. Working goals are often unachievable. 3. Sexualized violence and gender conflicts intensify. 4. Conflict laden topics of culture and belonging are central. 5. The organizational context makes connections difficult and enhance loneliness. Based on these issues then four key conflcits are described, that are central to staff care efforts: 1. The pro-tection of resilience and vulnerability. 2. Recognition. 3. Equality and difference. 4. Security and the assessment of war reality. The article finalizes with the defini-tion of realistic staff care goals and a short case example.
