Abstract
The article discusses the problem of improving the effectiveness of correctional work to eliminate dyslexia in children of primary school age with mental retardation. The methods of diagnostics, the main directions and content of correctional work are described, the need to involve in this process not only a speech therapist, teachers of the Russian language and literature, but also teachers of additional education is substantiated.
