Abstract

Because the observation of proton decay or conservation of baryon number is dependent upon large numbers of nucleons, invariably, in collections of nuclei the effects of the nuclear medium upon baryon number conservation should be understood. Nucleon‐antinucleon oscillations, the effects of the nuclear medium on decay, and meson attenuation following decay are discussed. (AIP)
