Gloffer - Product Catalogs Building and Products Comparing in Product Catalogs, Taking Into Account the Multi-Currency and Multi-Linguality of Indexed Content

Abstract

This paper describes problematics of a product catalogue building from the view of heterogenous data collection, their parameterization, indexation and presentation of a content within multilingual and multi-currency content. There is discussed the problematics of a content preparation, unification and missing values addition. There is also mentioned the definition of primary and secondary dimensions (attributes). It is possible to search and sort according them and obtain only additional information. There is described the approach of a content creation, which is based on relational databases, with possibilities and advantages of an alternative saving with a help of no SQL (document) databases and searching full-text indexes. There are gathered the basic functions of a searching and a sorting with a respect to the used technologies and the expected search result. Finally, the issue of the reusability of search queries is described with regard to the frequency of questioning and updating of the source product base. Direct and delayed update methods are discussed and plus one value, batch and shadow update of the searchable content. This paper describes students' work as part of the student grant competition, and real commercial requirements that arose from cooperation with the commercial sector.
