Abstract

AbstractBased on facts culled from thousands of documents, over several years, the first 65 years of the American Academy of Advertising is traced. The founders, officers, and conference locations are documented, as are major moves taken in that time. The creation of awards, and the many recipients of those awards, likewise are detailed. Much of the early history has been lost, and no previous recounting of the organization’s background—aside from the first year or two—ever has been written. This information is presented in chronological order, inviting future expansion.
