Discussion: The amount of sugar contained in seasonings can be high in daily dietary habit in Japan, and the total sugar intake per day is high even if the sugar intake from confectioneries and sugar-sweetened beverages is moderate. The lack of vitamins, minerals, and dietary fibers can cause qualitative malnutrition. We investigate the amount of sugar intake from added sugars, beverages, and confectioneries.
