Abstract
Recientemente hemos asistido a un considerable aumento del interés popular y editorial por la historia de los imperios en general y la Conquista de América en particular. El presente artículo busca indagar en las relaciones entre imperio e historiografía en las últimas décadas; y, muy específicamente, en todo un tipo de literatura que ha convertido el pasado colonial en un campo de batalla cultural.

Hispania Nova publishes original research articles and book reviews on the 19th and 20th centuries, thus Contemporary History. Its goal is to promote greater knowledge in this field and to encourage discussion amongst historians and other social scientists worldwide interested in this area of study.
