The paper assesses compatibility and potential of various analytical methodologies employed to identify the chemical (elemental) composition of ancient copper and its alloys. As illustrated by the funerary offerings from the Potapovsky cemetery of the Bronze Age which were analyzed by various methods such as optical emission spectrometry and wavelength-dispersive spectrometry at different times, the analysis 279 Е. И. Г ак и др. found absence of fundamental differences in the material identified and obvious systemic operational failures of a specific equipment. Abstract

В статье дана оценка совместимости и потенциала разных аналитических методик по установлению химического (элементного) состава древней меди и ее сплавов. На примере инвентаря Потаповского могильника эпохи бронзы, в разное время проанализированного методами оптико-эмиссионной спектрометрии и спектрометрии с дисперсией по длине волны, показано отсутствие принципиальных расхождений в определении материала и явных системных сбоев работы того или другого оборудования. Близкий уровень корреляции парных данных зафиксирован и другими исследованиями, что делает эти данные одинаково пригодными для решения архео-металлургических задач.
