Abstract

The causes and consequences of violence against healthcare workers need to be evaluated from different perspectives. Studies show that there is a communication problem, but this problem is not only between healthcare workers and patients. Especially the discourse used by external factors and the influence of the media are important in the occurrence of violence. From this point of view, improving the communication training given to healthcare professionals, regulating the discourse through the media and planning awareness activities are important factors for the solution of the problem. There is a clear relationship between individual physical violence and social discursive violence. The discourses of people who are followed or supported by many segments of the society can be applied more sharply by the followers in the lower segments. This situation occurs between three factors: The perpetrator of violence, The subject of violence, The cause of violence. What is reflected in the media and the law has always been the “perpetrator of violence” and the “victim of violence”. The hidden subject is the one who causes
