The application of the green hydrogen and oxygen from air to Cinvestav hybrid vehicular transport prototype, designed, manufactured, and tested in my electrochemical group of research are presented. En esta comunicación, se proporcionan los avances recientes reportados en la literatura para el desarrollo de la electrolisis del agua en electrolizadores poliméricos y alcalinos, con especial atención a la viabilidad de la aplicación del hidrógeno verde, obtenido de las energías renovables como vector de energía para descarbonizar la industria y el sector transporte. A pesar de que se ha demostrado que la tecnología del hidrógeno verde es económicamente viable, financieramente atractivo y socialmente beneficioso, resulta de suma importancia reducir costos y acelerar el desarrollo de las tecnologías energéticas de hidrógeno y celdas de combustible para una innovación continua. Abstract

Abstract. In this communication, recent advances reported in the literature for the development of water splitting in anionic alkaline and polymeric electrolyzers are provided, with particular focus on the feasibility of application of the green hydrogen obtained from renewables as energy carrier to decarbonize the industry and the transportation sector. Despite green hydrogen technology has been proven to be economically viable, financially attractive, and socially beneficial, result of paramount important to reduce costs and accelerate development of the hydrogen and fuel cells energy technologies for a continuous innovation.
