It somehow contributes to the motivation factor for the students to start their business for motivation factor to start doing business despite their busy time with studies. Therefore, this study investigated the impact of business start-ups among undergraduate students. This study was conducted using a simple random sampling, which targeted diploma and bachelor degree students from one of the public universities in Melaka who have business as their side income or permanent income. An online questionnaire was sent to selected respondents, and 300 respondents responded to it. The underlying factors were investigated using frequency and descriptive analyses. Motivational components were identified using factor analysis. Researchers discovered that self-development, opportunities, freedom, and recognition are among the factors that can encourage young people to start a business. The most influential factor in why young people want to establish their businesses is opportunity.
