The integration of a learning management system (LMS) into higher education and other educational levels has become a significant factor in the adoption of digital learning approaches. With a vast array of options available, making accurate decisions in this dynamic landscape poses challenges. This paper seeks to streamline the selection process and ensure the most suitable match for an institution's particular goals and needs. This research primarily centres on the investigation of free e-learning platforms, chosen for their cost-effectiveness and alignment with the study's specific scope. Hence, this research explores the preferences of Malaysian educators concerning LMS usage, focusing on a specific comparison between Google Classroom and Microsoft Teams. The research employed a quantitative approach, utilising an online survey to collect and record domain comparisons. The results revealed that educators showed a preference for Google Classroom over Microsoft Teams when it came to teaching and facilitation. Several factors contributed to this preference, as evident from the analysis of the collected data, which fell into three main categories: functional suitability, compatibility, and portability. It is hoped that this study will help Malaysian educators to comprehend the suitability of technology for learning and the exchange of knowledge to benefit the students, institutions and the country in general.

Abstract: Advancements in the world of information technology and communication have direct and indirect effects on today's translation activities. This situation significantly influences the general public, especially Malay students, to use machine translation. This is because it is fast, easy, and free to use for meeting their daily life and learning needs. Among the machine translation search engines used are 'Google Translate' and 'Microsoft Bing Translator'. This research corpus focuses on the research aspect of translating noun forms such as relative, demonstrative, superlative, and interrogative found in the text of the book "al-Azkar" hadith into the Malay language. The theory of semantic and pragmatic translation introduced by Newmark forms the main basis for the analysis. The research findings show that there are several differences, weaknesses, and shortcomings that can lead to errors in meaning in the translations from 'Microsoft Bing Translator' (MB) compared to 'Google Translate' (TG). Among these are the selection of inappropriate vocabulary equivalents and the addition of auxiliary words in the Malay translations. This demonstrates that there are differences in software data between Google Translate and Microsoft Bing Translator.

摘要:信息技术和传播的进步对当今的翻译活动产生了直接或间接的影响。这种情况极大地影响了大众,特别是马来学生使用机器翻译。这是因为它快速,简单,免费使用,以满足他们的日常生活和学习需求。使用的机器翻译搜索引擎包括“谷歌翻译”和“微软必应翻译”。本研究语料库侧重于将《阿兹卡》圣训文本中的名词形式,如关系、指示、最高级和疑问句翻译成马来语的研究方面。纽马克提出的语义和语用翻译理论构成了分析的主要依据。研究结果表明,与“谷歌翻译”(TG)相比,“微软必应翻译”(MB)的翻译存在一些差异、弱点和缺点,这些差异、弱点和缺点可能导致翻译中的意思错误。其中包括在马来语翻译中选择不适当的词汇等价物和添加辅助词。这表明谷歌翻译和微软必应翻译在软件数据上存在差异。

Abstract: Microbial art, an emerging trend in microbiology education, integrates artistic activities to enhance critical thinking and deepen comprehension of intricate scientific concepts. This study examines the effect of microbial art activity on students' understanding and competency of microbiological culturing methods. A qualitative content analysis was employed to evaluate the comprehension of 108 students who participated in the microbial activity, which encompassed the assessment of both their visual creations and written reports. The relationship between students' understanding of bacterial culturing techniques and the quality of their artworks was assessed using descriptive statistics and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The quality of the artwork was classified as poor, moderate, and good, reflecting students' cultivation skills, with 53% at a moderate level, 30% good, and only 17% having poor artwork quality. According to the analysis of the students' written reports, it was found that 71% of the students exhibited a strong understanding of the activity, while 29% showed an average level of understanding. However, there was no correlation found between students' understanding and the quality of their artwork. This study demonstrates that incorporating microbial art into science education can improve student cultivation techniques by providing an engaging and creative way to practice microbiology skills.

Abstract: Efforts to control COVID-19 continue to be a global priority, with ongoing research and public health measures aimed at minimizing the impact of the disease. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccines have emerged as a vital tool for mitigating its impact. This cross-sectional study involved the distribution of structured questionnaires to 165 vaccinated pharmacy students at a Malaysian public university. The study aimed to investigate the knowledge, awareness, and perceptions of COVID-19 vaccines among this specific cohort. The findings underscore a commendable level of knowledge (between 88.5% and 98.9%) as well as awareness and perceptions among the respondents regarding COVID-19 and its vaccines. They exhibited a clear understanding of the importance of vaccination in curbing the disease and expressed a willingness to educate others on its significance. Moreover, the respondents held positive perceptions about vaccine safety, the elicited immune response, and the protective efficacy conferred by vaccination. The study's outcomes reveal the pharmacy students' robust grasp of the importance, safety, and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines. Their positive attitude towards vaccination emphasizes its role in controlling the pandemic and underscores the importance of disseminating this knowledge. This study offers valuable insights into the knowledge and perceptions of a specific population group, contributing to our broader understanding of various aspects of COVID-19 vaccine.

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the development of Malaysia-India diplomatic relations from the era of Tunku Abdul Rahman to the era of Najib Tun Razak by focusing its analysis on political, economic, and social issues that occur throughout the current bilateral relations, as well as assess the implications of these issues on the development of Malaysia. By using a qualitative method design that is a historical study through primary document analysis instruments such as newspapers, leader speech texts, and secondary sources, the study finds that the evolution of Malaysia-India bilateral relations is seen in three different phases, namely: the first phase (1957 - 1970) was known as the conflict phase, the second phase (1970 - 2000) can be classified as the recovery phase and the third phase was seen as the development phase (2000– 2010). Malaysia-India relations are not only based on trade and economy, but more on a friendly relationship based on mutual benefits. Although there were political, economic and social that posed a security threat to Malaysia, these issues did not affect the good relationship between the two countries without any armed conflict or prolonged crisis. Therefore, this study concludes that the Malaysia-India bilateral relationship will remain strong and grow in the future with active involvement in various aspects of economic, political, defense and cultural and societal exchange.

Abstrak: Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perkembangan hubungan diplomatik Malaysia-India dari Era Tunku Abdul Rahman sehingga ke era Najib Tun Razak dengan memfokuskan analisisnya kepada isu-isu politik, ekonomi dan sosial yang berlaku sepanjang berlangsungnya hubungan dua hala pada waktu ini serta menilai implikasi isu-isu ini terhadap pembangunan Malaysia. Dengan menggunakan reka bentuk kaedah kualitatif iaitu kajian sejarah menerusi instrumen analisis dokumen primer seperti akhbar, teks ucapan pemimpin serta sumber sekunder, hasil kajian mendapati bahawa evolusi perkembangan hubungan bilateral Malaysia-India dalam dilihat dalam tiga fasa berbeza, iaitu; fasa pertama (1957 – 1970) dikenali sebagai fasa konflik, fasa kedua pula (1970 – 2000) boleh dikelaskan sebagai fasa pemulihan dan fasa ketiga dilihat sebagai fasa perkembangan (2000– 2010). Hubungan Malaysia-India bukan hanya berlandaskan perdagangan dan ekonomi, tetapi lebih kepada hubungan pesahabatan atas dasar saling melengkapi demi kepentingan bersama. Walaupun terdapat juga isu-isu politik, ekonomi dan sosial yang memberi ancaman keselamatan kepada Malaysia, namun isu-isu ini tidak menjejaskan hubungan baik antara dua negara ini tanpa wujud sebarang konflik bersenjata atau krisis yang berlanjutan. Oleh itu, kajian ini merumuskan bahawa hubungan dua hala Malaysia-India ini akan kekal kukuh dan berkembang pada masa depan dengan penglibatan aktif dalam pelbagai aspek ekonomi, politik, pertahanan

Malaysia-India relations are not only based on trade and economy, but more on a friendly relationship based on mutual benefits. Although there were political, economic and social that posed a security threat to Malaysia, these issues did not affect the good relationship between the two countries without any armed conflict or prolonged crisis. Therefore, this study concludes that the Malaysia-India bilateral relationship will remain strong and grow in the future with active involvement in various aspects of economic, political, defense and cultural and societal exchange.

 Abstrak: Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perkembangan hubungan diplomatik Malaysia-India dari Era Tunku Abdul Rahman sehingga ke era Najib Tun Razak dengan memfokuskan analisisnya kepada isu-isu politik, ekonomi dan sosial yang berlaku sepanjang berlangsungnya hubungan dua hala pada waktu ini serta menilai implikasi isu-isu ini terhadap pembangunan Malaysia. Dengan menggunakan reka bentuk kaedah kualitatif iaitu kajian sejarah menerusi instrumen analisis dokumen primer seperti akhbar, teks ucapan pemimpin serta sumber sekunder, hasil kajian mendapati bahawa evolusi perkembangan hubungan bilateral Malaysia-India dalam dilihat dalam tiga fasa berbeza, iaitu; fasa pertama (1957 – 1970) dikenali sebagai fasa konflik, fasa kedua pula (1970 – 2000) boleh dikelaskan sebagai fasa pemulihan dan fasa ketiga dilihat sebagai fasa perkembangan (2000– 2010). Hubungan Malaysia-India bukan hanya berlandaskan perdagangan dan ekonomi, tetapi lebih kepada hubungan pesahabatan atas dasar saling melengkapi demi kepentingan bersama. Abstract: In this digital era, YouTube has become prominent in children's lives as a source of entertainment and education. Nonetheless, parents face conundrum in controlling or monitoring their children activities on YouTube. This research explores the significant role that Malaysian Muslim mothers play in mediating their children's engagement with YouTube. We aim to gain insights into the mothers' mediation strategies through in-depth interviews with three informants. Using a purposive sampling technique, we selected three Malaysian Muslim mothers of children aged 3-8 years old who actively viewed YouTube. We conducted semi-structured interviews, which allowed the informants to share their strategies, challenges, and perspectives regarding their children's YouTube usage. A thematic analysis based on mediation strategies theories was conducted to extract critical insights, including - 1) rules and guidelines, 2) mothers' roles, and 3) Islamic influences. The findings of this study suggest the used of restrictive and instructive mediation strategies to manage children's media consumption. These strategies aim to strike a balance between allowing children some autonomy in their media choices and ensuring the content aligns with the family's values and educational goals. They actively set time limits, verify the content, recommend Islamic content and explain the significance of good and bad content. Their commitment reflects a dynamic relationship between religious faith and digital parenting practices within the Malaysian Muslim context.

Abstract: Drug addiction recovery is a fundamental factor in helping drug users restart normal life and get back into society. It is also a vital stage of drug treatment, as it can be an indication or evidence of whether the procedures used during treatment are suitable for helping addicts with drug problems. This study focuses on identifying the level of recovery of drug addicts undergoing rehabilitation treatment at CCRC Besut quantitatively based on the built DART instrument. The Drug Addiction Recovery Test (DART) consists of four main components: drug dependency, relapse, drug resiliency, and mental strength. Every component has 20 items, so the total number of items in DART is 80. A total of 123 treated addicts in the Cure and Care Rehabilitation Centre (CCRC) in Besut were chosen as survey respondents. Study data was analysed using descriptive analysis for each component. As for the level of recovery, the study showed that 52% of the respondents were fully discharged from the CCRC, 37% could be released as outpatients, 9% of respondents could not be released and needed to be monitored, and 2% could not be released and needed to be given intensive treatment. The study proves that the instrument can be used to measure the recovery level of addicts treated at the CCRC. Additionally, this instrument would be able to help government institutions, especially the CCRC, treat the drug addiction crisis effectively in the future.

Abstract: Images of reptile animals are often debated in various fields such as science, education and their use in proverbs of Malay idioms and Iban idioms. Observation of the characteristics of animals in these classes makes the Iban community more sensitive toward their surroundings. In the Iban idioms, the images of reptiles used are due to the inherent properties of the animals that are equated or reflected in the nature and actions of men in the past. A total of 15 Iban idioms using images of reptiles were generated from Bup Sempama Iban, a book written by Casper Kayong Umping (2011).. The proverbs data were analyzed using the Semantic Inquisitive Approach by applying the Bridging Cross Reference toward the corpus data. Based on the analysis, the proverbs using the images of reptiles show the traits possessed by humans and they are conveyed by the use of proverbs (Sempama Jaku Iban) with implied meanings and subtle language to keep the recipient's heart or listeners. The merging of data, the applied theory, and the culture applied in this study has successfully explained the implicit meaning behind the Iban idioms and the reflection of the minds of the speakers.

Cyberbullying among K-pop fans in Malaysia is still unclear, but the consequences of this behavior are becoming a growing problem. The problem of cyberbullying cannot be simplified with Malaysia's current laws. There is an urgent need for K-pop fans on Twitter to understand cyberbullying and find ways to combat it. In this study, the researcher highlights the most common types of cyberbullying among K-pop fans on Twitter. The aim of this study is to understand cyberbullying on Twitter among K-pop fans in Malaysia. It specifically examines the community of K-pop fans on Twitter. There are 3 research objectives in this study, namely (i). To discover the most common types of cyberbullying among K-pop fans on Twitter, (ii). To understand the social activities that facilitate cyberbullying among K-pop fans on Twitter, and (iii). To determine whether K-pop fans on Twitter are aware of ways to combat cyberbullying. This research is based on data obtained through in-depth interviews with mass communication students. The data was analyzed using thematic analysis to determine the most common types of cyberbullying and ways to combat cyberbullying. The study found that K-pop fans know what behavior is considered cyberbullying, what types of cyberbullying to expect and what can be done about it. The results of the study also suggest that a different approach needs to be taken to better understand how to combat cyberbullying. It is hoped that the study can help to improve the prevention of cyberbullying on Twitter among K-pop fans.

The problem of cyberbullying cannot be simplified with Malaysia's current laws. There is an urgent need for K-pop fans on Twitter to understand cyberbullying and find ways to combat it. In this study, the researcher highlights the most common types of cyberbullying among K-pop fans on Twitter. The aim of this study is to understand cyberbullying on Twitter among K-pop fans in Malaysia. It specifically examines the community of K-pop fans on Twitter. There are 3 research objectives in this study, namely (i). To discover the most common types of cyberbullying among K-pop fans on Twitter, (ii). To understand the social activities that facilitate cyberbullying among K-pop fans on Twitter, and (iii). To determine whether K-pop fans on Twitter are aware of ways to combat cyberbullying. This research is based on data obtained through in-depth interviews with mass communication students. The data was analyzed using thematic analysis to determine the most common types of cyberbullying and ways to combat cyberbullying. The study found that K-pop fans know what behavior is considered cyberbullying, what types of cyberbullying to expect and what can be done about it. The results of the study also suggest that a different approach needs to be taken to better understand how to combat cyberbullying. It is hoped that the study can help to improve the prevention of cyberbullying on Twitter among K-pop fans.

The Philosophy and Current Issues course (FIS) offered to undergraduates in the local universities is a compulsory course which is hopeful to shape students in accordance to the desired National Education Philosophy. The skill attribute of learning outcome within the Malaysian Qualifications Framework for the course comprises Inquisitive Mind (KKM4), Social Skills and Social Responsibilities (KKM3C), and Autonomous Learning (KKM4). Graduates from local universities are often criticised for lacking critical thinking skills, weak in general knowledge and do not demonstrate social skills, social responsibility, and are lack of self-independence in carrying out duties when they enter employment. Hence, these skills are so-designed to be imparted through the FIS course in Universiti Malaya. Therefore, this research is set out to gain insights into the implementation of the course and students’ achievement in the attributes of Inquisitive Mind (KKM4), Social Skills and Social Responsibilities (KKM3C), as well as Autonomous Learning (KKM4) for the FIS course at Universiti Malaya. The research sample is composed of first-year students who undertook the course during Semester I and II in Session 2020/2021. In this study, the analyses on the related documents of FIS course was done by observing the level of achievement of the three mentioned attributes across the learning methodology executed. The analysis outcome based on the continuous assessment results and examination showed that students had attained KKM4, whereby more than 70 percent of the students attained the level set. Besides, the KKM3C attribute was also attained. This study suggests that future research may extend to sample from graduates who have entered employment in order to reevaluate the effectiveness of the skills mastered, and to find out whether these skills are truly practical and applicable in their career and society.

Abstrak: Kursus Falsafah dan Isu Semasa (FIS) yang ditawarkan kepada para pelajar di peringkat sarjana muda di universiti tempatan merupakan kursus wajib yang diharapkan mampu membentuk pelajar sebagaimana yang ingin dicapai oleh Falsafah Pendidikan Kebangsaan. Atribut Kemahiran Hasil Pembelajaran Kerangka Kelayakan Malaysia di dalam kursus ini terdiri daripada Minda Ingin Tahu (KKM4), Komunikasi Sosial dan Tanggungjawab Sosial (KKM3C) serta Pembelajaran Berautonomi (KKM4).
