Abstract This article deals with three Russian intelligenty – the historian Vasilii Ivanovich Semevskii, the historian and journalist Sergei Petrovich Mel’gunov, and the literary critic Mstislav Aleksandrovich Tsiavlovskii – with their contributions to the journal Golos minuvshego and successor journals.
