O discurso fundamentalista cristão no Governo Bolsonaro: uma análise de enunciados do Twitter

Abstract

This article examines the current discursive practices that articulate the religious with the political with the objective of analyzing the conditions of possibility of emergence of the Christian fundamentalist discourse in the Bolsonaro Government materialized on Twitter, in the period from 2018 to 2022. methodologically, we will mobilize an archeogenealogy of the relations of knowledge and power that inscribe these discursivities within social confrontations, from the perspective of Foucauldian Discursive Studies. We cut out from our archive to compose the corpus of analysis six utterances conveyed by Bolsonarists that circulated on the Twitter platform in 2018-2022. As a relevant issue, Bolsonarism strategically constitutes itself, manifesting forms of rational-ity and power correlations that cross the political sphere with the belief in absolute moral values. In the economy of these discourses, fundamentalist practices emerge that make visible a will to truth based on the universality of knowledge produced in the exercise of power, threatening the demo-cratic experience in Brazil. We dialogue with the theses of Nietzsche (2009) and Sloterdjik (2019), mobilizing categories such as regimes of truth, resentment and ascetic ideal.
