Abstract
The article deals with contrasting polyphony in literature and the same notion in lin-guistics. As exemplified by the Russian fiction in F.M. Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment, the present study reveals that the polyphonic character of the text can be also treated as evi-dentiality and/or reactional response combined with mirativity.
