Abstract
Increasing the number of phases in step-down dc converters allows to increase power and has a positive effect on the energy efficiency of the converters. However, there is a problem of phase-current imbalance in such converters, which leads to uneven loading of the phases and does not allow to achieve the design power and efficiency. The article provides an overview of existing methods for current balancing in multiphase converters, and discusses their advantages and disadvantages.
