PROGRAMA NACIONAL DE FORTALECIMENTO DOS CONSELHOS ESCOLARES: A POLÍTICA DE FORMAÇÃO PARA CONSELHEIROS

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to investigate the training policy for school councillors in the field of democratic management, in order to highlight its relevance to the concept of social participation through decisionmaking. Thus, this research presents an analysis of the training courses for education department technicians and school councillors, which took place through the National Program to Strengthen School Councils. To this end, through a bibliographical survey, information was gathered on democratic management and the instruments that make it possible to implement this constitutional principle, such as the School Council, the Pedagogical Political Project and the choice of principals. As an objective, the study sought to investigate what the Ministry of Education's guidelines are when it comes to putting the School Council into practice and drew conclusions that the policy investigated left some gaps in terms of its effectiveness in providing better quality public education.
