Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis kemasan terhadap viabilitas benih rosella, pengaruh lama penyimpanan terhadap viabilitas benih rosella dan mengetahui interaksi antara jenis kemasan dan lama penyimpanan terhadap viabilitas benih rosella. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial 3x4 dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah Jenis Kemasan yang terdiri atas 3 taraf, yaitu: Plastik Polietilen, Plastik + Vakum, Aluminium Foil. Faktor kedua adalah Lama penyimpanan yang terdiri dari 4 taraf, yaitu: 1 bulan, 2 bulan, 3 bulan, 4 bulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan jenis kemasan berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap parameter potensi tumbuh maksimum, daya berkecambah, dan indeks vigor. Perlakuan lama penyimpanan berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap parameter potensi tumbuh maksimum, daya berkecambah, dan indeks vigor. Interaksi antara jenis kemasan dan lama penyimpanan berpengaruh nyata terhadap potensi tumbuh maksimum, daya berkecambah, dan indeks vigor. Perlakuan terbaik yaitu kombinasi antara jenis kemasan aluminium foil dan lama penyimpanan 1 bulan.Effect of Packaging Type and Storage Period on Rosella (Hibiscus Sabdariffa L.) This study intends to investigate the influence of packaging types on the viability of rosella seeds, the impact of storage duration on rosella seed viability, and to explore how the interaction between packaging types and storage duration affects rosella seed viability. The research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a 3x4 factorial arrangement and included 3 replications. The first factor involved the choice of packaging, which encompassed three options: Polyethylene Plastic, Plastic with Vacuum, and Aluminum Foil. The second factor was the duration of storage, with four time periods: 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, and 4 months. The findings of the study demonstrated that the type of packaging used had a highly significant influence on key parameters such as maximum growth potential, germination capacity, and vigor index. Likewise, the extended storage duration also had a significant impact on these parameters. Notably, the interaction between packaging type and storage time had a substantial effect on maximum growth potential, germination capacity, and vigor index. Abstract
Abstrak.
