Pemberian pupuk organik dari cangkang telur ayam dapat meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman sawi, mengurangi penggunaan pupuk anorganik dan juga dapat mengurangi limbah di lingkungan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kehalusan tepung cangkang telur ayam terhadap sifat kimia tanah, pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman sawi (Brassica juncea L.) pada Inceptisol. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) pola non faktorial, dengan lima perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Susunan perlakuannya yaitu kontrol, kehalusan 140 mesh, 60 mesh, 35 mesh dan 18 mesh. Dosis tepung cangkang telur ayam yang digunakan adalah 25 g tanaman-1. Parameter yang diamati adalah pertumbuhan tanaman sawi (tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun dan bobot basah tanaman) dan hasil analisis akhir sifat kimia tanah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kehalusan tepung cangkang telur ayam dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman sawi pada Inceptisol, pertumbuhan tanaman terbaik terdapat pada kehalusan tepung cangkang telur 60 mesh. Kehalusan tepung cangkang telur ayam berpengaruh terhadap pH tanah, namun kehalusan tepung cangkang telur ayam sampai dosis 25 g tanaman-1 belum dapat meningkatkan C-organik, KTK, dan KB pada Inceptisol.Effect of Chicken Egg Shell Flour Fineness on Soil Chemical Properties, Growth and Production of Mustard Plants (Brassica juncea L.)Abstract. The application of organic fertilizer from chicken eggshells can increase the productivity of mustard plants, reduce the use of inorganic fertilizers and can also reduce waste in the environment. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of fineness of chicken eggshell flour on soil chemical properties, growth and production of mustard plants (Brassica juncea L.) on Inceptisol. This study used a non-factorial randomized group design (RAK) pattern, with five treatments and three replications. The treatment arrangement is control, fineness of 140 mesh, 60 mesh, 35 mesh and 18 mesh. The dose of chicken eggshell flour used was 25 g plant-1. The parameters observed were mustard plant growth (plant height, number of leaves and plant wet weight) and the results of the final analysis of soil chemical properties. The results of this study indicate that the fineness of chicken eggshell meal can increase the growth of mustard plants on Inceptisol, the best plant growth is found at 60 mesh eggshell meal fineness.
