Abstract

The article studies the topical problems in counteracting the processes of agricultural land degradation in the Rostov region. It emphasizes the importance of the integrated ameliorative arrangement of the ravine-gully systems aimed at mitigating the consequences of the water erosion, and describes the practical experience of implementing such measures. It is substantiated that it is the integrated approach that enables protection of the soils, most susceptible to erosion processes, increases soil-fertility and, on the whole, ensures more sustainable use of land resources
