This research was carried out in two cyclical phases, each of which went through planning, implementation, observation and reflection steps. Assessment of critical thinking skills is carried out through observation and a test in the form of four questions regarding the business material and resultant style. The research objects are students in class VII-H of SMP Negeri 1 Tarik Sidoarjo for the 2023/2024 academic year. In cycle I, it was found that the critical thinking skills possessed by class VII students were still not optimal because there were 3 students who were included in the very low category with a percentage of 9.375% and 2 students who were included in the high category or 6.25% in percentage terms. In cycle II, the critical thinking skills of class VII-H students at SMP Negeri 1 Tarik were 23 out of 32 people in the medium category and 9 people in the high category or if the percentage was 28.12%. Therefore, the learning of Problem Based Learning effective for improving critical thinking skills.\nABSTRAKPenelitian tindakan kelas ini berkontribusi dalam upaya meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada peserta didik kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Tarik Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua fase siklus, dimana masing-masing melalui langkah perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Penilaian keterampilan berpikir kritis dilakukan melalui observasi dan tes berupa empat soal uraian mengenai materi usaha dan resultan gaya. Objek penelitian yakni peserta didik kelas VII-H SMP Negeri 1 Tarik Sidoarjo Tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Siklus I diperoleh bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis yang dimiliki oleh peserta didik kelas VII masih belum maksimal karena terdapat 3 peserta didik yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat rendah dengan presentase 9,375% dan 2 peserta didik termasuk dalam kategori tinggi atau 6,25% dalam bentu presentase. Abstract
This classroom action research contributes to efforts to improve critical thinking skills in class VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Tarik Sidoarjo.
