Expressions of gratitude in education: an analysis of the #ThankYourTeacher campaign

These findings underscore the importance of the teacher-student relationship and relational qualities over subject expertise. Abstract

Teachers play a significant societal role, yet many feel underappreciated, and commonly cite this as a reason for considering leaving the profession. This study investigated responses to the #ThankYourTeacher social media campaign, which was created to generate public expressions of gratitude towards teachers.
