Abstract

A concise total synthesis of natural prenylacridone alkaloids, N-methylcycloatalaphylline A, N-methylbuxifoliadine D, buxifoliadine D, oriciacridone E, glycocitrine II, norglycocitrine II, 3-O-methoxyglycocitrine II and new series of their non-natural analogues with diverse functionalities is achieved. Antibacterial assays of these alkaloids revealed that difluoro glycocitrine II derivative exhibits highest potency against Streptococcus species.
