Abstract

We investigated the heat production of 42 different Salmonella strains belonging to the serogroups A, B, C, D and E. Using Columbia- and Brain Heart Infusion Broth as growth media, we found 3 different types of heat profiles. Salmonella typhi and Salmonella choleraesuis showed thermograms which differed in shape from the remaining serotypes.
