Significant part of the review is dedicated to Prof. Philip Philipov, founder and long standing head of the department of neurosurgery at Medical university - Sofia. Abstract
The authors made a short medico-historical review of the development of the Bulgarian neurosurgery from the antiquity till nowadays.
