The aqueous fraction (AQF), n-hexane fraction (NHF), and ethyl acetate fraction (EAF) boosted superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and reduced glutathione (GSH) levels with reduction in malondialdehyde (MDA) of hypertensive-treated rats. Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: This study investigated the Bryophyllum pinnatum live plant fractions’ effects on the activities of angiotensin-converting-enzyme (ACE), arginase, blood pressure, and biochemical parameters in sodium fluoride (NaF)-induced hypertensive rats. The results revealed that diastolic blood pressure (DBP), systolic blood pressure (SBP), mean arterial pressure (MAP), heart rate (HR), and arginase activity were reduced with increased nitric oxide level compared to hypertensive rats.
