Expansión geográfica del capital y transformaciones territoriales en la meseta chubutense (Patagonia argentina, 1990-2020)

Abstract

Since the 1990s, the Central Plateau of Chubut has absorbed an increasing amount of financial surplus from other places. The objective of this article is to analyze the impact of these investments on the territories and their development processes. The work focuses on the Middle Valley of the Chubut River, a historically livestock territory that has been revalued for its aptitudes for agricultural production, tourism and recreation. Based on the case analysis, the article examines the impact of investments on the processes of change and productive reactivation of the valley, on rural establishments, small towns and their inhabitants.
