Based on a social stratification at the block scale and through the generation of service areas, the probability of access to the first level of health to poor groups in the Metropolitan Area of Cuernavaca, Morelos is estimated. As a result, the poor settled in the outskirts of the metropolitan area are those who show a lower probability of access, despite having greater pedestrian access. The research confirms the centralization of public health services and indicates that these are essential to avoid the deepening of poverty, which gives rise to the formulation of health and mobility policy.

To work in the territories, it is necessary to know them, describe them, find their way and count on the participation of the different actors from a holistic perspective, considering the different scales, hierarchized and in interaction. This research aims to provide a conceptual model for the approach to territorial planning by articulating the categories of territorial intelligence and territorial profile. Although the villages of the province of Cordoba (Argentina) are considered as study units, the model can be applied to other territories with divergent characteristics.

According to CEPAL, COVID-19, will have serious effects in the short and long term, the intensity and depth of which will depend on the conditions of each economy, world trade and the closure of micro, small and medium enterprises. Under this framework, the objective of this study was to describe the preliminary economic and operational effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in MSMEs in Sonora, Mexico. It was found that the additional cost of facing the pandemic is explained by 21% from the percentage of reduction in sales and the number of people employed by the companies surveyed.

Since the 1990s, the Central Plateau of Chubut has absorbed an increasing amount of financial surplus from other places. The objective of this article is to analyze the impact of these investments on the territories and their development processes. The work focuses on the Middle Valley of the Chubut River, a historically livestock territory that has been revalued for its aptitudes for agricultural production, tourism and recreation. Based on the case analysis, the article examines the impact of investments on the processes of change and productive reactivation of the valley, on rural establishments, small towns and their inhabitants.

Tax functions are calculated with equitable sacrifice for aggregate federal taxes and for income tax to the added value and special on production and services separately using micro data from the National Survey of Household Income and Expenditure for 2018. Although there are differences in magnitude between the inequality aversion coefficient for IT, VAT and STPS taxes in Mexico; the Mexican tax system does not currently follow the principle of equitable sacrifice. The results demonstrate that the coefficient of aversion to inequality is very high in Mexico, and this should be interpreted as the desire of society towards fairer taxation.

The goal of this investigation is to identify elements and attributes for the establishment of interinstitutional and intersectoral collaboration strategies based on the analysis of two biodiversity conservation case studies: COINBIO and the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor. Both cases highlight the importance of local adoption and crosscutting implementation. They share the participation of local communities and their incorporation into formal decision-making spaces, contributing proposals for solving environmental problems, and for the design and implementation of public policies related to regional community development based on collaboration.

This paper examines the role of Natural Protected Areas (NPAs) as a source of economic spillovers for mass tourism destinations in Mexico. An econometric model was used to explain the number of booked rooms in tourism destinations as a function of proximity to NPAs, controlling for destination characteristics. A conservative estimate suggests that some rooms booked by foreign visitors can be explained by proximity to NPAs. Our results open public policy options, such as a compensating mechanism from conventional tourism to fund NPAs and show that they would be economically efficient and contribute to sustainability.

This research addresses the socio-environmental problems of Michoacan fishermen and maize farmers in Lake Cuitzeo trough the Social Responsibility approach, based on a survey of 419 fishermen and farmers in 25 locations in the region. Farmers and fishermen identify actions that have negative environmental and social impacts, such as the use of agrochemicals, discharge of sewage, litter, use of prohibited networks and exclusion of vulnerable social groups in fisheries and agriculture activities. At the same time, proposals are displayed that contribute to the sustainability of their productive activities and community life from a socially responsible perspective.
