Through these results, academic impact is generated, being a relevant indicator in the assessment of research centers and universities. Objective: to analyze the production of educational research articles in a Colombian university, by exploring cooperation networks among authors and identifying favored thematic fields in terms of education. Method: through an ex post facto design, social networks were assessed and added in the review of scientific articles. Results: Preference over regional index journals was identified in addition toco-authorship networks with few intermediaries and a diversity of study areas that emphasize the contextualized analysis of education in subjects such as ethno mathematics, literature, and teachers’ education and training.
