Abstract

This volume addresses justice. The articles, written by social workers, examine societal structures that present challenges to justice and point to possibilities for change. Social justice has consistently been of importance in the field of social work in its historical efforts to alleviate social problems (Reid, 1977). Brieland (1981) champions justice as a basic human right. Social justice is difficult to fully conceptualize.
