Abstract

This study aims to construct a data input system to implement an automation system for building information modelling (BIM) in order to improve the efficiency of the simulation evaluation process of indoor surface condensation when planning apartment buildings. Surface condensation simulation evaluations using only conventional computer-aided design (CAD) drawings may be inaccurate due to the problems of interference from the analyst’s subjective judgement and missing information, and this process takes a long time due to repetitive evaluations brought about by design changes. In order to improve on these problems, a unified evaluation method using BIM data can be used, and this requires an information system which enables data compatibility between BIM data and the input data of a heat transfer analysis program. This study firstly presents a data compatibility methodology between BIM authoring tools and heat transfer programs by establishing the surface condensation simulation analysis process using BIM ...
