They were not repealed until around 1973 or 1974.This article considers the pedagogical function of the law by comparing the Americans with Disabilities Act with the \"Ugly Laws\" on the books in several cities until the early 1970s, which prohibited people with obvious disabilities from moving freely in public spaces and city streets.
