In this paper we have demonstrated how the Reptile Search Algorithm (RSA) algorithm is able to solve classical engineering design problems. In the first part, the biological reference, as well as a detailed overview of the algorithm is given. Afterwards, the RSA algorithm and the potential to solve the machine engineering design class of problems is given. The source code for this algorithm was written using MATLAB R2020a software suite. The Reptile Search Algorithm (RSA) algorithm was used for optimization problems in the field of engineering design, such as: pressure vessel optimization, disk brake optimization and cantilever beam optimization.
