Abstract

Optimization algorithms plays a vital role in mechanical engineering. In this paper we have demonstrated how the Reptile Search Algorithm (RSA) algorithm is able to solve classical engineering design problems. In the first part, the biological reference, as well as a detailed overview of the algorithm is given. Afterwards, the RSA algorithm and the potential to solve the machine engineering design class of problems is given. The source code for this algorithm was written using MATLAB R2020a software suite.
