Abstract
The effect of graft materials on knee kinematics after ACL reconstruction was investigated parametrically using a 3D finite element knee joint model. The results demonstrated that a stiff graft, such as the current BPTB graft, may overcorrect the kinematics of an ACL deficient knee. A less stiff graft, under appropriate initial tension, may better restore the intact kinematics.
