Their models are categorized into two types with PM arrangement. One is the motor that has the PM arrangement based on the original design of the conventional PM vernier motor, and the other is the motor with a spoke type arrangement of PMs, which we have previously proposed. Typical vernier motors have a short air gap length, but the one that is applied to the steel-wheel linear motor train requires a larger air gap length. Abstract
