Abstract

Objective To investigate the application value of high-frequency ultrasound in the diagnosis of diabetic lower extremity vascular diseases. Methods Fifty-two diabetic patients admitted to Yangquan Fourth People’s Hospital from March 2017 to May 2019 were selected as the observation group, and 52 healthy people who underwent physical examination during the same period were selected as the control group. All the participants underwent high-frequency ultrasound examination. And the lower extremity vascular lesion site, lower extremity vascular lesion type, vascular media thickness, vessel inner diameter and blood flow velocity of the two groups were compared. The characteristics of lower extremity artery sonogram were analyzed. Results The lower extremity vascular lesion rate in the observation group was 90.38%(47/52), higher than the 34.62%(18/52) in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There were significant differences between the observation group and control group in the incidences of plaque (50.00% vs. 19.23%), stenosis (51.92% vs. 28.85%) and occlusion (28.85% vs. 0), P< 0.05. In the observation group, the film thickness was higher than that in the control group, and the blood vessel diameter and blood flow velocity was lower than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusions High-frequency ultrasound can be used in the early diagnosis of diabetic lower extremity vascular diseases. It can effectively identify the location, type and characteristics of lower extremity vascular diseases, and analyze vascular media thicknesses of different vessels, inner diameters and blood flow velocities, so as to provide a reliable reference to clinical diagnosis. Key words: Diabetes mellitus; Lower extremity vascular disease; High frequency ultrasound; Diagnostic value
