Generally, results of sub-pixel positioning will directly affect the orbit positioning accuracy of space targets. Centroid method, median method, one-dimensional and two-dimensional Gaussian fitting are commonly used positioning methods. Positioning performance for those methods is compared using the actual observed image. For solving the problem that positioning accuracy is reducing on distorted image, an improved two-dimensional Gaussian fitting method is proposed. Abstract
With the heavily increasing of the number of space debris, research of positioning for space target image gradually becomes a hot topic. Generally, results of sub-pixel positioning will directly affect the orbit positioning accuracy of space targets.
