Abstract

In an effort to facilitate wider use of the large amount of data collected to support “real-time” ITS applications, many provinces and local cities have endeavored to create ITS Data Management Systems to provide the travel information services under the National ITS Architecture. Unfortunately, experience with ITS data management systems revealed that usage of the systems has been rather light,many date had been wasted, and it was clear that a ITS data management system must continue to evolve as user requirements and data availability changed.
