In proposed protocol, by evaluating the paths through exchanging control packets between bridge nodes, the path with the smallest hop count and maximum connectivity is selected. Abstract

Routing is an important issue in vehicular ad-hoc networks due to the high speed movement of vehicles in a hostile dynamic environment. In order to improve the performance of existing routing protocols, in this paper a geographic routing protocol based on the backbone structure is introduced.
