It highlights the subtlety of the rabbinical approach as well as its modernity and the complexity of the issues that it raises — social (the condition of women and of minorities), philosophical (the absence of God) and symbolic (intertextual reminiscences).In particular, it is difficult to understand the armed struggle with which this story ends without placing it back into its precise historical context.
