The system is operating manually and automatically for measuring solid density of standard masses from 1 kg up to 20 kg by using PLC and touch screen to accommodate of whole calibration sequences. In addition, the optimization results are obtained to raise the performance of balance pan of the system. Different measurements have been used to validate the system for measuring the solid density of the mentioned masses. Abstract

Measuring the solid density of mass standard is very important factor for measuring its mass. There are different National Metrology Institutes (NMIs) designed a system to measure solid density in different ranges of mass standard. This paper will describe the system that used to measure the solid density in National Institute for Standard (NIS) -- Egypt. Additionally, a controlled system is designed to make the measuring process very easy.
